Wondering Aloud
What was the last major appendant body to come into existence? Has anyone tried to get one going lately?
I think about that, too. There was that case in Alabama or Georgia of some Scottish Rite brothers who formed an independent study group that got banned by their Grand Lodge. They kept meeting anyway and got expelled and formed a GOUSA lodge. I don't really know the details, but it's a negative example.
Memphis-Misraim is another clandestine appendant body. I'd love to see a regular appendant body come into existence. High Twelve is the youngest I can think of.
Actually I just listened to Bro. Eric Diamond's podcast about The Widow's Sons, who were formed in 2000. They require men to be Master Masons in order to join, have their own initiation ritual, and have chapters in multiple states... sounds like an appendant body to me!
